Recurring revenue that works commercially
Winning a contract is only the beginning. Qualification and pricing need to account for margin, delivery capacity, customer fit and the potential to retain and grow the relationship.
More than 20 years of commercial experience across the technology sector — building and leading sales teams, developing growth strategies, winning complex business and helping organisations improve commercial performance.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with some of the most talented and capable leaders and managers you could hope to meet. I have been blessed to learn from them—not only about growing businesses, but about judgement, responsibility and how to treat people when the pressure is on.
My path into the industry began after a two-year voluntary mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I went on to earn a BA in Business and Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, where a 12-month internship with Sun Microsystems marked the beginning of my career in IT.
More than 20 years across organisations including Gartner, Vodafone Global Enterprise and Dell, followed by senior leadership roles in private equity-backed service providers, have given me experiences I value enormously.
I have also worked alongside individuals and businesses struggling to overcome challenges. Sometimes there simply wasn’t enough capacity to give an important issue the attention it needed. Sometimes the business had reached a stage that required experience or capabilities it had not yet developed. And sometimes pride made it difficult to acknowledge that help was needed.
That last point deserves understanding. When you have invested years of yourself in a business, asking for support can feel deeply personal. Your reputation, your people and your sense of responsibility are bound up in what you have built. It can be difficult to let someone else see where you feel uncertain.
Those experiences helped shape my decision to found Campbell Advisory. I wanted to put what I had learned to work alongside owners and leaders facing those moments—to offer experienced commercial support in a way that was practical, accessible and grounded in respect.
Moving from corporate and private equity-backed roles into my own practice was an opportunity to focus on that work: understanding what is holding a business back, helping its leaders make sound decisions and staying involved to put those decisions into practice.
The fractional model allows me to bring that experience into businesses that need senior commercial leadership but may not yet need, or be ready for, a full-time appointment.
I bring my experience with humility. Working with outstanding people has taught me how much there is to learn; seeing businesses struggle has taught me how important it is to listen before offering answers.
That is how I want you to experience Campbell Advisory. Someone you can speak openly with, who respects what you have built, will challenge you thoughtfully and will take responsibility for helping you move forward.
Away from work, I am married with three daughters. Family is an important part of my life, and another reason I value getting to know the person behind a business, as well as understanding the business itself.
You do not need to have every answer before we start a conversation.

A national MSP had strong technical capability but needed a more consistent way to turn sales activity into growth. I sharpened customer targeting, strengthened opportunity qualification and led strategic opportunities alongside technical and operational teams. £1.1m in incremental first-year services revenue was secured over a rolling 12-month period, with more than 70% attributable to a significant government agency contract and approximately 30% from other commercial opportunities. During the same period, the net new-business win rate improved from approximately 13% to over 20%.

My deepest experience is in managed services and enterprise technology, including a decade in PE-backed MSPs. That matters because the commercial challenge rarely sits within sales alone.
Winning a contract is only the beginning. Qualification and pricing need to account for margin, delivery capacity, customer fit and the potential to retain and grow the relationship.
Enterprise buying decisions involve technical, financial and operational stakeholders. Vendor incentives and channel relationships add another layer. I understand why opportunity strategy and internal alignment matter.
Investor expectations and post-acquisition priorities put pressure on forecasts, account ownership and the way teams work together. Commercial plans need clear accountability and a pace the business can sustain.
For founders, MDs and leadership teams, that means support grounded in the realities of your business: diagnosing what is getting in the way, challenging assumptions and staying involved as improvements are put into practice.

I raise concerns directly and privately, explain my reasoning and work through difficult decisions with you and your team.
Before recommending a growth plan, I challenge whether the margin, delivery capacity and customer commitments make it achievable.
If growth has stalled, sales performance is inconsistent or your commercial structure hasn’t kept pace with the business, let’s work out what’s getting in the way.
